Erieko Shannile Aoyagi

It has been almost a year since I took Bene subjects. I have learned a lot, with all honesty, but sometimes I do not see any significance of me learning things like this. But when I was given the chance to do a website project with my groupmates regarding St. Benedict and was given the role of summarizing the Rules of St. Benedict, I was a bit enlightened by the knowledge St. Benedict wishes to impart on us.

I realized that St. Benedict's teachings are relevant in modern times. His teachings are even practiced by us even without realizing it. Through BENE2, and the Benedictine spirituality, I have come to be more patient, enduring and at the same time, more interested and willing to be a better Bedan and Christian to the world.

I may forget the sequence of the Benedictine spiritiuality. I may forget the Rules of St. Benedict. I may not get a high grade in BENE2 or even my future Bene subject this college. But one thing is for sure: I am a true Bedan who would practice what I have learned.
